There's Something Here, That Calls To Me.

i've been think a lot about character since sunday.
ever since this guy named russ from my ward gave a talk based on richard g. scott's talk "the transforming power of faith and character".
i thought his talk was great; the first thing he said was,
"to quote the poet bob marley,
every little thing is going to be alright."

In Elder Scott's Talk, He Says A Lot Of Amazing Things.
one of my favorite quotes is this;

"we become what we want to be by consistently being what we want to become each day."
this quote sat affixed upon the white board in my room for a good month, at least.
but now my little board of no importance holds this quote, which is from the same talk;

"you cannot be passive in life, or in time the natural man will undermine your efforts to live worthily. you become what you do and what you think about. lack of character leads one under pressure to satisfy appetite or seek personal gain.
you cannot successfully bolster a weak character with the cloak of pretense."

Character Is What Helps Define Us.
It Helps Us Make Decisions And Choices.
If We're Not Constantly And Consistently Building Our Character, Then We Won't Manage To Become Better People.
"when protected by self-control, righteous character will endure for eternity."

character isn't temporary.
"faith is a foundation building block of creation."
character and faith are so intimately related.
having faith, builds up ones character immensely.
and character is built up by service and good deeds.
it is built up with humility.

I Think I Needed To Hear Russ' Talk On Sunday Because I Personally Need To Work On My Character.
I Need To Work On Having More Faith.
I Need To Work On Who I Am, And Where I Am Going In This Life.
because at the age of 19, i need to figure out the right path in life to take.

"it is nobility of character, that fabric of inner strength and conviction woven from countless righteous decisions, that gives life its direction."
